Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Make-Up.

I recently got asked for a quote by Suffolk Registrars for their latest blog post which is Bridgerton inspired blog and I thought what a wonderful idea for a make-up blog. It’s always lovely to be asked to take part in someone else’s post. Their blog covers weddings holistically so do check it out, especially the beautiful picture from Somerleyton Hall gardens. A place I imagine Bridgerton to take place.

My post is just about make-up (sighs).

Is anyone else as obsessed as me with Bridgerton? I just love it! the dresses, the crazy hairstyles and I’m a total hopeless romantic so I do love a good romance.

Of course, the makeup always plays a big part for me, and I love the Bridgerton girls, especially Cressida Cowper: isn’t her hair just the best? I love the whimsical hairstyles Bridgerton showcases.

So Dearest Reader, the social season is upon us…

Bridgerton inspired makeup is essentially the Regency period with a modern twist. The Regency period was a time of refinement and culture characterised by the distinctive fashions architecture and style of the period figures such as Jane Austen, Lord Byron, John constable and Mary Shelly.

Before the regency period make-up was white faces, red lips and heavenly rouge cheeks. The Regency era was one of natural beauty, although tans and freckles were still much frowned upon.

For the perfect regency look try a sheer coverage base for a fresh glowing, dewy complexion focusing on a flushed cheek for that youthful look. Use a cream blusher as it gives a softer youthful glow.

Highlight the cheeks so they catch the light and use a tinted lip balm for that romantic lip that’s totally kissable, opt for a soft rose shade.

Keep the eyes simple, just to draw the colour out but not overpower the look. Go for a smokier eye for the evening balls but again, keeping it subtle, so it doesn’t overpower. (My recommended products are at the bottom of the post).

To never fixate on how you look, just knowing you look great is the outcome that you want from this make-up style.

A Bridgerton Inspired Wedding

As you can imagine, we’re seeing a lot of Bridgerton inspired Weddings this season, and I am here for it! Would you love a Bridgerton inspired wedding? Can you see yourself as a Bridgeton bride?

Talking about Bridgerton inspired weddings brings me back to this shoot from the fantastic Butley Priory, (check out the photographs throughout this blog) with such a beautiful setting you could take yourself into a Bridgerton world there. There is so much history there and the building is just idyllic.

This shoot was so much fun, blush pink and pearls were the theme behind this for a soft romantic look. The flowers were dreamy and opulent as you would expect for this style, all brought together by the most incredibly talented team of suppliers.
